  • Preventative Care

Our Philosophy: At KV Dental, we believe that preventative care is key to maintaining optimal oral health. This allows us to help you manage various conditions and monitor any that could become a problem. At preventative care visits (also known as "check-ups") a thorough examination of the oral cavity is completed which includes: checking for cavities, looking for signs of gum disease, and an oral cancer screening.

More on Prevention: Prevention includes regular check-ups and xrays and may include a variety of treatments such as: oral cancer screenings, sealants, fluoride, fillings, cleanings, biteplanes, mouthguards, and crowns/bridges/partials/implants. At hygiene appointments your gum health will be assessed and if any gum disease is detected it will be treated as it is best caught early.

Oral Cancer Screenings are an important part of your exam. The areas examined include the roof of the mouth (palate), all around the tongue, the floor of the mouth, and the vestibules of the cheeks and lips. Any unusual lumps or bumps or variations in tissues will be subject to further examination when detected. In the event of oral cancer, early diagnosis and treatment is always best.
